Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team has set its goals for the 2013 season --- win the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championship and use that as a springboard to win the NCAA Division II championship.

Ambitious, right?

Head coach Jim Boos thinks his team has a good shot at both, and he said Monday that getting the first goal accomplished will help a lot in taking on the second.

"If you win the NSIC title, you're going to make the NCAA playoffs," Boos said, "so it certainly goes hand-in-hand. We want to qualify for the NCAAs again, and any team that gets to that level has a shot."

UMD is ranked fourth in the preseason American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) Division II poll, which was released last week.
