UMD Men, Women Get Past Bemidji State

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's basketball team continued its success against Bemidji State while the UMD men followed suit in the second half of the doubleheader on Friday night at Romano Gymnasium.

Barnum, Minn. native Katrina Newman led all scorers with 16 points as the Bulldogs beat the Beavers for the 12th straight time. Danielle Flood added 13 points while Megan Lueck racked up 11 points.

On the men's side, Jordan Reetz tallied 35 points and Reece Zoelle finished just shy of a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds.

Both teams will host the University of Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday afternoon with the women's game set for 4:00 p.m. and the men at 6:00 p.m.
