UMD Women Tabbed 5th by WCHA Coaches

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team has been picked to finish fifth this season in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), that as the league's preseason coaches' poll was released on Thursday.

Minnesota is the overwhelming favorite to start the year, with the Golden Gophers receiving all seven possible first-place votes while riding a 49-game winning streak entering the 2013-14 season.

UMD will open the season at home Oct. 4-5 with a non-conference series against Connecticut, with the Bulldogs' first WCHA series coming the following weekend on the road against North Dakota.
