UMD's Karen Stromme Elected as NCAA Chair

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) assistant athletics director and senior woman administrator Karen Stromme has been elected chair of the NCAA Division II Management Council, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Stromme had served as vice-chair of the council for the past year under Bob Boerigter but now will take over the full responsibility following a January 2014 convention.

The winningest coach in UMD women's basketball history, Stromme has been a full-time administrator since 2005. She also has extensive NCAA Division II committee experience, having previously served as a vice-chair on the Management Council.
