UMD's Lange Named DII Player of the Week

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) senior outside hitter Kate Lange was named the AVCA/Sports Imports NCAA Division II Player of the Week the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Tuesday.

Lange was also named the All-NSIC Offensive Player of the Week and Tournament MVP honors after UMD went 4-0 at the West Florida Opening Weekend Tournament.

On Saturday, Lange earned her 1,500th career kill and racked up 83 kills over the weekend, seven service aces, and 94 points to lead the Bulldogs.

Lange also received the AVCA Player of the Week award on Sept. 18 last year. She's the only Bulldog to earn the honor since 2007.

Lange and the No. 2 Bulldogs return to action Friday afternoon in Kenosha, Wis. at the Wisconsin-Parkside tournament against No. 19 Indianapolis at 4:00 p.m.
