UPDATE: Twins Trade OF Revere to Phillies
Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Twins' front office has traded outfielder Ben Revere to the Philadelphia Phillies for pitcher Vance Worley and a minor league prospect, the team announced on Thursday morning.
The 25-year-old Worley is a right-handed starting pitcher carrying a career earned run average of 3.50 across his first two seasons in the majors, although last season that statistic was 4.20.
Last season with the Phillies, Worley posted a (6-9) overall record in 23 games as a starter, throwing 133 innings and striking out 107 batters.
The 24-year-old Revere, meanwhile, played 124 games for Minnesota last season and complied a .294 batting average with 32 runs batted in and 40 stolen bases.
Right-handed pitcher Trevor May is the other player coming to Minnesota in the deal, that after having spent the 2012 season with Philadelphia's Double-A affiliate.
May started 28 games in 2012, posting a (10-13) overall record and a 4.87 earned run average while throwing 149.2 innings and striking out 151 batters.
