Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Three UW-Superior athletes have qualified for this weekend's NCAA Division III indoor track and field championships, which are set to be held March 8-9 in Naperville, Ill.
Katie Capriglione will compete in the women's weight throw, that after capturing the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championship last month with a toss of 59 feet, 5 inches.
That mark is third this indoor season in all of NCAA Division III, and it also broke the UW-Superior school record that Capriglione had previously set.
Nils Hansen, meanwhile, will compete in the men's weight throw after marking a total of 59 feet, 9.5 inches at this past weekend's meet at UW-Stevens Point, putting him 12th in the nation and also breaking his own school record.
Kenny McGee rounds out the national meet trio for the Yellowjackets, as he will compete in both the men's long jump and the triple jump. He enters ranked eighth in the nation in the triple jump and 13th in the long jump.
