Vikings Trade, Use Three First Round Picks

April 25, 2013 Updated Apr 26, 2013 at 11:04 AM CST

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Vikings already owned the 23rd and 25th overall picks in the 2013 NFL Draft, and by the time Thursday night was over they also owned the 29th overall selection.

Minnesota used its first pick to take Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, who stands at a 6-foot-3 and 297-pounds and is expected to help bolster that defensive line for the Vikings.

The second first-round pick for Minnesota was used to take Florida State cornerback Xavier Rhodes, a guy who draft experts say plays a very physical man-to-man style.

The Vikings then traded picks in the second, third, fourth, and seventh rounds to New England in exchange for the Patriots' 29th overall selection, using that to take Tennessee wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.
