Columbus, OH (NNCNOW.com) --- Newcomer Jason Pominville scored his first goal for Minnesota and added an assist to help the Wild snap a three-game skid against Columbus, 3-0.

Pominville, who was the former Buffalo Sabres' captain, recorded his first points since being traded last week. Niklas Backstrom recorded 24 saves and Ryan Suter and Charlie Coyle added goals for the Wild. Minnesota had lost four of five after winning a seven in a row.

Minnesota faced newly acquired Marian Gaborik, the former Wild star who was traded in a multiplayer deal on Wednesday with the New York Rangers.

Minnesota returns to action on Tuesday, April 9 when they return home to host Chicago.
