Wild Extend Win Streak, Backstrom Gets SO

St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Niklas Backstrom made 33 saves to earn his first shutout of this season as the Minnesota Wild skated to a 2-0 win over San Jose on Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.

Zach Parise and Jared Spurgeon scored goals for Minnesota in the winning effort, extending the team's winning streak to five games.

The Wild are now (14-5-1) in the last 20 games and currently sit tied with Vancouver in first place of the Northwest Division with 38 points.
