St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Wild made a pair of significant moves on Tuesday, re-assigning rookie forward Mikael Granlund to the American Hockey League (AHL) and trading enforcer Matt Kassian to the Ottawa Senators.
Granlund will join Minnesota's AHL affiliate in Houston, that after the 21-year-old had posted just one goal and five assists in 19 games played this season with the Wild.
Kassian, meanwhile, was sent to Ottawa in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2014 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft.
The 26-year-old forward had one goals and no assists in nine games with Houston this season, not appearing in any games this year with Minnesota in the NHL.
