Wilderness Fall in First Two Games of RBC Cup

UPDATE --- Summerside, P.E.I. (NNCNOW.com) --- For the back-to-back nights, the Minnesota Wilderness have lost, falling to the Brooks Bandits 6-3 in the second day of action at the 2013 Royal Bank Cup Canadian national junior A championship game.

The Wilderness led the game at 2-1 but five goals in the final eight minutes gave way to the Bandits.

It was much of the same for the Cloquet-based team in Saturday night's game. Minnesota fell 5-1 to the Summerside Western Capitals in the opening game.

The Wilderness, who are a part of the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL), opened the scoring midway thought the first period thanks to a goal from Nick Szopinski.

But the Western Capitals scored five unanswered goals to take the game in day one of competition.

Minnesota returns to the ice on Sunday night to take on the Brooks Bandits (1-0) at 9:30 p.m.
