Wilderness Hires Meisner as Associate Coach

Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Cloquet, Minn.-based Minnesota Wilderness has hired Cloquet, Minn. native Brian Meisner as an associate head coach, the team announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Meisner comes to the Wilderness after spending the past five seasons as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level, working both with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and University of Connecticut.

He also has head coaching experience in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), having been the head man for both Wichita Falls and Butte for six combined seasons.

“We are very excited to add another guy to our staff with not only head coaching experience in the NAHL but experience at the Division 1 level as well,” Minnesota general manager David Boitz said. “Not only is he have the experience we were looking for to bolster our staff, but he, just like [head coach] Corey [Millen], is a Cloquet native.”

Meisner also boasts assistant coaching experience in the United States Hockey League and with St. Scholastica at the NCAA Division III level.
