Wilderness Win Third Straight SIJHL Title

Fort Frances, Alberta (NNCNOW.com) --- Jeremy Johnson scored less than two minutes into the second overtime period on Monday night, giving the Minnesota Wilderness a 3-2 win over Fort Frances and the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) championship.

Nick McCormack and Joseph Drapluk scored the goals in regulation for the Wilderness, with Gordy Defiel making 29 saves in the winning effort.

The playoff championship is a third straight for the Cloquet, Minn.-based franchise, with the first two coming when the team played out of Spooner, Wis.
