St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Wild rookie defensemen Jonas Brodin was named to the National Hockey League (NHL) All-Rookie Team on Saturday, becoming the first Wild player to be honored with an All-NHL award.
The 19-year-old led all rookies with time on ice while skating with a plus-3 rating. Brodin racked up 18 takeaways and 60 blocked shots in his first season.
The Karlstad, Sweden native was selected in the first round in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft with the 10th overall pick.
Brodin was also a finalist for the Calder Trophy.
