Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- Chisholm head coach Bob McDonald likely made his last coaching appearance as his Minnesota squad ousted Wisconsin in double overtime while the Wisconsin girls got past Minnesota in OT on Tuesday night in the All-Star Border Battle.

McDonald, who is one of 13 coaches nationwide with 1,000 wins, added one more to his 59-year-career Tuesday night. His son, Joel, who coaches for Hibbing, served as an assistant coach for the Minnesota team.

Mora's Sam Johnson lead Minnesota with 27 points, including six 3-pointers in the 120-115 double OT win. Esko seniors Kory Deadrick and Casey Staniger each racked up 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Bayfield guard Donald Gordon III was named the game's Most Valuable Player after scoring a team-high 27 points on nine 3-pointers.

It was the Wisconsin team that prevailed in OT 78-76 thanks to 19 points from Superior's senior Hailey Kontny. Eau Claire Memorial's Lauren Novak added 15.
