Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UW-Superior softball team fell further out of the playoff picture in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) on Saturday, falling 3-2 and 9-1 to UW-Whitewater.
Superior native Amanda Le Bard pitched a complete game in the first contest, striking out six across seven innings.
A fellow former Spartan, Ashlee Olson, led the Yellowjackets offensively in game two with two hits and a run scored.
UW-Superior is now (11-19) overall and (4-10) in conference play with two games remaining. Those will be played April 29 against UW-Oshkosh, with first pitch set for 12:00 p.m.
