Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Superior, Wis. native and UW-Superior senior Ashley Martin has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) All-American second team, it was announced on Thursday.
Martin led the Yellowjackets with a .410 batting average in the 2013 season, also leading the team with 78 at-bats, 32 hits, 22 runs scored, and four home runs.
The former Spartans standout also earned this year all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) first team honors for the third time in career, having previously done so in 2010 and 2011. She returned to UW-Superior this year after missing all of 2012 with an injury.
Martin was also a finalist for WIAC player of the year honors, marking the second time she has made it to the final three.
