Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UW-Superior sophomore goaltender Drew Strandberg has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the week after picking up his first shutout of the season over the weekend.

Strandberg turned away 27 shots on Friday night as the Yellowjackets earned a tough 0-0 tie at home against conference-leading St. Norbert, and then helped the team to a 2-2 tie against UW-Stevens Point on Saturday.

All in all, the sophomore netminder finished with a 0.93 goals against average on the weekend and a .957 saves percentage.

The Yellowjackets are on the road this weekend to close out the regular season, playing Friday night at UW-Eau Claire and then Saturday night at UW-River Falls.
