Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #12-ranked St. Scholastica men's hockey team saw a 3-0 first period lead disappear and settled for a 4-4 tie on Friday night with UW-Stout in the first round of the playoffs.

The Saints got goals from Alex Valenti, Brendan Bradbury, Dave Williams, and Tyler Miller in the game, the first of a two-game weekend playoff series.

The Saints are the #2 seed in this year's Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) playoffs and will host UW-Stout again Saturday night at Mars Lakeview Arena.

If that game ends tied, a mini-game will decide the series winner in the NCHA Peters Cup tournament. Face off for Saturday's game is set for 7:07 p.m.
