St. Cloud, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #2-ranked UMD men's hockey team lost its chance to be Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) regular season champs with a 2-1 loss to St. Cloud State on Saturday.

Duluth native Keegan Flaherty scored the game's only goal for the Bulldogs, who now cannot catch league-leading Minnesota in the race for the McNaughton Cup.

The Bulldogs and Huskies will play game two of their weekend series Saturday night, with drop of the puck set for 7:07 p.m.
