#4 Mustangs Hand #3 Bulldogs First Loss of 2012

Marshall, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #3-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team suffered its first loss of the 2012 season on Saturday, falling 3-0 to #4-ranked Southwest Minnesota State.

The Bulldogs took the Mustangs to extra points in the first set, dropping that 28-26 before losing the next two 25-18 and 25-13.

Hibbing native and UMD junior outside hitter Kate Lange led the Bulldogs with 13 kills in the match, also adding 12 digs for her XXth double double of the year.

The loss drops UMD's record to (13-1) overall this season and (4-1) in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
