Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Members of the defending national champion UMD Bulldogs football team were at the Holiday Center in Duluth on Tuesday, celebrating the start of Homecoming 2011.

The school held a pep rally at the Holiday Center Tuesday morning, complete with the UMD pep band, Bulldogs cheerleaders, and, of course, Champ.

Chancellor Lendley Black and athletic director Bob Nielson were also on hand for the unique event.

The #7-ranked Bulldogs host Northern State this weekend in the homecoming game, with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. at Malosky Stadium.

That game, like all UMD home football games this season, can be seen on live television in the Northland on the My 9 Sports Network.
