Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Facing its second top 10 opponent in as many days, the #6-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team came out of Saturday afternoon's tilt with a 3-0 win over #10-ranked Minnesota State-Mankato at Romano Gymnasium in Duluth.
Hibbing native and UMD junior outside hitter Kate Lange was the only player with double-digit kills in the match, finishing with 18. She also added seven digs and four blocks in the winning effort.
Freshman middle blocker Monica Turner turned in a team-high five blocks for UMD to go along with eight kills, while sophomore libero led the team with 15 digs in the match.
UMD improves to (15-1) overall and (6-1) in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), with road matches against the University of Mary and Minot State up next weekend.
