Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Ben Aalfs hit a three pointer as time expired on Wednesday night to send the UW-Superior men's basketball team to a 85-82 win over UW-River Falls.
Aalfs led the Yellowjackets with 27 points in the game, followed by the 20 from Brendan Bauer and 17 from Bronson Byrne.
UW-Superior improves to (11-6) overall and (5-3) in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

SECOND HALF STRUGGLES COST UWS WOMEN ON THE ROAD
The UW-Superior women's basketball team, meanwhile, saw only one scorer reach double digits in a 65-44 loss to UW-River Falls.
Deandra Vavra was that leading scorer with 14 points in the Yellowjackets' loss. She was aided by the six points of Carly Chell and three UWS players with five points in the contest.
The Yellowjackets are now (9-7) this season and (3-5) in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
