Badgers Roll Over U-Mass in Anderson's Debut

Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- First year head coach Gary Andersen made his Wisconsin debut on Saturday in convincing fashion as the 23rd-ranked Badgers rolled over Massachusetts 45-0 thanks to strong performances from Melvin Gordon and James White.

Gordon finished with 144 yards including a 70-yard touchdown run while White added 143 and a 51-yard score.

Newly-named starting quarterback Joel Stave finished the game 9 of 17 for 197 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Jared Abbrederis led all wide receivers with two catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

Wisconsin led 17-0 at half before breaking it open in the second half with three touchdowns in the third quarter.

The Badgers will host Tennessee Tech next Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11:00 p.m.
