Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UMD softball team has qualified for the 2012 NCAA Division II tournament, it was announced Monday.
The Bulldogs own a record of (37-20) this season and are one of 64 teams chosen for the annual tournament.
UMD's first game will be May 4 against Concordia-St. Paul, with that matchup scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in Mankato.
Minnesota State-Mankato and Fort Lewis are the other two teams in the Central 1 regional, set up in a double-elimination format.
This marks the Bulldogs' sixth overall appearance in the NCAA tournament and fourth under current head coach Jen Banford.
