Boos Gets Win No. 311, 'Dogs Sweep Mavs

Mankato, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Jim Boos became the all-time winningest coach in program history as the No. 1 University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team swept Minnesota State-Mankato 3-0 in Mankato on Saturday.

After their first loss of the season, the Bulldogs rebounded to beat their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) rival Mavericks.

The No. 1 Bulldogs won two of three sets by double figures, and four players had at least five kills. Senior outside hitter Kate Lange led UMD with 13 kills.

Junior libero Julie Rainey had 18 of UMD's 38 digs in the match. Sophomore setter Ashley Hinsch racked up 34 assists.

UMD returns to Romano Gymnasium on Friday at 7:00 p.m. to take on Upper Iowa.
