Thunder Bay, ON (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Duluth Huskies spoiled a fantastic outing by their starting pitcher for the second straight day, falling 1-0 to the Thunder Bay Border Cats Monday night.
UMD Bulldog Tyler Blomberg went seven scoreless innings, allowing only two hits while striking out seven, but he was tabbed with a no-decision in the contest.
The game was the second consecutive game the Huskies have been shut out, and also marks the seventh straight loss for the club.
Chance Brull was tabbed with the loss, allowing the game's only run in the bottom of the ninth innings. Blomberg, meanwhile, lowered his season ERA to 3.80.
Fellow UMD Bulldog Marcus Riewer started at second base. He went 0-for-3 at the plate with two strikeouts, lowering his season batting average to .292.
The Huskies and Border Cats play again Tuesday night in Thunder Bay, with the first pitch set for 6:05 p.m.
