Bulldogs Advance to NSIC Championship Game

Mankato, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) soccer team ousted No. 19 Winona State on Friday afternoon 3-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) semifinals to advance to the conference championship.

The Bulldogs snapped the Warriors 13-game winning streak thanks to a goal from Riley Allen and a pair of goals from Maureen Stormont.

Champin, Minn. native and UMD goalkeeper Marissa Rose stopped three shots during the game and allowed only one goal in the 86th minute. The Warriors outshot the Bulldogs 17-10.

UMD will play at Minnesota State Mankato on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for the NSIC Championship on Sunday.
