Bulldogs Earn the Sweep Over No. 20 WMU

Kalamazoo, MI (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team stretched their road unbeaten streak to seven games as they beat No. 20 Western Michigan 3-1 on Saturday night to earn the weekend sweep.

The Bulldogs were down a goal early in the first before Joe Basaraba tied things up at 1-1.

Then in the second period, Alex Iafallo notched his 10th goal of the year to put UMD ahead before sophomore Austyn Young scored his first career goal to give the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead.

UMD (12-9-3) will host Colorado College next weekend at AMSOIL at 7:07 p.m.
