Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) freshman forward Kyle Osterberg has been named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) rookie of the week, it was announced on Monday.

Osterberg had two goals and two assists in the two-game series, with all four points coming in Friday night's 5-2 win for the Bulldogs. He also finished the weekend with a plus-three rating and a team-high .286 shooting percentage.

The freshman now has nine goals and seven assists this season, with that goal total just one off the team leaders, Justin Crandall and Alex Iafallo.
