Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- With Lord Stanley's cup on display, the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team rolled over the University of Connecticut 7-0 in their opening game of the season at AMSOIL Arena.
With over 2,000 fans on hand, Jenna McParland got the Bulldogs on the board first just 13 seconds into regulation making it the quickest goal to start a goal in program history.
Zoe Hickel, Megan Huertas and Lara Stalder each added a goal for UMD who held an edge in shots 59-22. Kayla Black posted the shutout with 22 saves on the night.
UMD and UConn will face off again on Saturday night at 6:07 p.m.
