Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) junior Aaron Roth has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) special teams player of the week, it was announced on Monday.

Roth had an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown this past Saturday for the Bulldogs, with that proving to be the winning score in UMD's 32-14 road win over the University of Mary.

Roth is the first Bulldogs player to earn an NSIC weekly award this season, and he's also the first UMD player to return a punt for a touchdown since he did it his freshman season against Minnesota-Crookston.

Roth was also named the NCAA Division II special teams player of the week by the Beyond Sports Network for his performance against the Marauders.
