Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica senior Kyle Flagstand and freshman Austin Colvard highlighted the 2013 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) postseason awards, each leading a group of six Saints on the all-conference first team.
Flagstad was named the UMAC player of the year for the second consecutive season, that after he hit for a .489 average and led the league with 28 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 2013.
The senior outfielder also led the UMAC with an. 872 slugging percentage and was in the top five in hits, doubles, triple, home runs, and runs batted in.
Colvard, meanwhile, is the UMAC freshman of the year after finishing third in the league with 24 hits and 22 runs scored. He hit for a .414 average and struck out just once in 54 at-bats against UMAC competition.
Those two were also named to the all-UMAC first team, joining teammates Jake Casareto, Kyle Jensen, Andy Schwantes, and Michael Swenson.
Pad Getchell and Thomas Rogers also earned postseason honors, garnering honorable mention on that all-UMAC squad.
