CSS Women's Tennis Wins 17th Straight UMAC Title

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- For the 17th straight year, the St. Scholastica women's tennis team are Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament champions after beating Northwestern College 7-2 on Saturday.

The Saints have won the UMAC title outright 16 times in its 17-year history and shared it only once.

St. Scholastica was led by the number 2 doubles team of Rachael Zwiener and Kelli Johnson who won 8-5. The number 3 duo of Megan Lawrence and Alexa Herbst won for their 12th straight time, 8-5.

In singles, Zwiener won her 11th straight singles match at the number 2 spot. Virginia native Alexis Gunderson rallied from a set down to win at the number 3 spot, 2-6, 7-5, (10-6).

St. Scholastica finishes the season with 21 wins, tied for the third-most in program history.
