Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's basketball team is hosting a five-day camp this week at Romano Gymnasium, and head coach Matt Bowen has his fingers crossed that a future Bulldog may be among the bunch.
About 60 boys ranging from first to eighth grade will be on campus this week working with UMD players and coaches, with Bowen thinking optimistically about a possible end result for his program.
"These are the kids that maybe if I'm fortunate enough to continue coaching 10 or 15 years from now that one of these guys will be a player," he said. "You look back the longer you're in it, the more you say, 'Hey, I remember you when you were a fourth grade camper, and now you've turned into a basketball player.'"
The camp started on Monday and runs through Friday, with sessions going from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
