Mankato, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UMD baseball team lost to Augustana by a 3-1 score on Thursday, eliminating the Bulldogs from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) postseason tournament.
Lucas Steinbach had the lone run batted in for UMD, which ends its season with a record of (24-27).
This marked the third consecutive season the Bulldogs had qualified for the NSIC tournament, but Thursday's loss combined with a loss to Minnesota State-Mankato on Wednesday ended the team's title hopes.
Duluth Marshall graduate Orry Engebretsen was the Bulldogs' offensive leader, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored.
