Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team has earned its first #1 seed in the NCAA Division II tournament since 2007, meaning the team will host the first three rounds of this year's national tournament at Romano Gymnasium.

UMD will host the Central Regional Dec. 5-7, with the Bulldogs' first-round matchup coming against Great American Conference (GAC) champion Arkansas Tech.

The Bulldogs are in the national tournament field for a 12th straight season, earning an automatic bid after sweeping Concordia-St. Paul in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championship.

Other teams in the Central Regional include NSIC teams Concordia-St. Paul, Northern State, and Southwest Minnesota State as well as Central Missouri, Nebraska-Kearney, and Washburn.

Times of the first-round matchups to be played at Romano Gymnasium will be announced at a later date.
