Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) women's hockey team couldn't overcome a two-goal third period deficit as they fell to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 5-2 on Friday night at Wessman Arena.

The Yellowjackets tied the game at 1-1 in the first period after a goal by Haley Olmstead on the power-play. It was all Falcons from there though. UW-River Falls scored two goals in the second and the third to earn the win.

Shanley Peters finished with 19 saves for the Yellowjackets while her counterpart Ashley Kuechle recorded 25 stops for the Falcons.

UWS (5-2-2) and UW-River Falls play again on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Hunt Arena in River Falls.
