Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UMD sophomore forward J.T. Brown has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association offensive player of the week following his five goal performance in Alaska-Anchorage.
The Hobey Baker candidate accounted for all the Bulldogs goals in a 4-1 Friday night win, then tallied again on Saturday in a 3-2 loss.
Brown finished with nine total shots on goal in the two-game series, putting five of them into the Seawolves goal.
The UMD sophomore now ranks first in the nation with a plus-minus rating of +27 and is tied for ninth in scoring with 37 points this year.
Friday night's game marked Brown's second hat trick of the season, with the first coming on the road against Nebraska-Omaha. He is the first Bulldog with two three-goal games in a season since MacGregor Sharp did it in the 2008-09 season.
