Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Five St. Scholastica athletes on three separate teams have been named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) athletes of the week, it was announced on Tuesday.
For the football team, senior running back Jake Jensen was named the UMAC offensive player of the week after he had a program-best 303 all-purpose yards this past Saturday.
He was joined by Superior, Wis. native and senior defensive back Jake Turkowski, who was named the UMAC defensive player of the week after becoming just the second player in program history to return two interceptions for touchdowns in a single game.
On the women's soccer team, Duluth, Minn. native and junior forward Kelsey Kehtel is the UMAC offensive player of the week after she recorded 12 points in three games and set program records for goals in a single season and career goals.
Her teammate, Logan Williamson, was named the UMAC defensive player of the week after she had five points in three games and helped lead a defensive unit that contributed to three shutouts.
The final player of the week honoree is men's soccer sophomore defender Tom Corcoran, who is the UMAC offensive player of the week after he scored hat tricks in both games this past weekend for the Saints.
