Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Former UWS Yellowjacket defender Jon Bell has been named to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's all-time team as part of its centennial celebration.

Bell, a graduate of Proctor high school, spent four seasons with the Yellowjackets, appearing in 67 games and picking up five assists.

“Jon Bell was one of the best, if not the best, player that ever competed in men’s soccer at UW-Superior,” said head men’s soccer coach Joe Mooney. “I can’t think of anyone else more deserving of this honor. To be recognized on a list of the best players in the history of our conference is pretty special. He didn’t put up huge numbers, but that wasn’t his job. As a defender his job was to keep the other team from scoring and for my money, he was as good as it got in that role.”
