Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Four St. Scholastica athletes have been named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) player of the week in their respective sport, it was announced on Tuesday.
Saints placekicker Mike Theismann was named the UMAC football special teams player of the week after equaling a program record this past weekend, connecting on three field goals in a single game.
Theismann's field goals were all 30 yards in length, and he also set a program record in scoring 13 overall points in St. Scholastica's 43-6 win over Martin Luther.
Andrew Jenkins, meanwhile, was named the UMAC men's soccer offensive player of the week after scoring a total of eight points in two wins for the Saints this past weekend.
Jenkins scored three goals in St. Scholastica's 6-0 win over Martin Luther, adding that to his lone tally in the team's 7-0 win over Bethany Lutheran.
After facing those same programs, Casey Mitchell was named the UMAC women's soccer offensive player of the week.
She scored four goals in St. Scholastica's 12-0 win over Martin Luther, setting a conference record by scoring three goals in just three minutes, 37 seconds. That time is also the fifth-fastest mark nationwide in NCAA Division III.
Finally, Anna Zyvoloski was named the UMAC volleyball offensive player of the week after posting 38 kills in two wins for the Saints over Minnesota-Morris and Crown.
In the last four matches alone, Zyvoloski has put down 77 kills for the St. Scholastica volleyball team.
