St. Cloud, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Hermantown, Minn. native and St. Cloud State senior forward Drew LeBlanc has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) player of the week, it was announced on Tuesday.

LeBlanc led all league scorers with five points this past weekend, totaling two goals and three assists as his Huskies earned back-to-back 5-1 victories over Minnesota State-Mankato.

The former Hermantown standout now shares the scoring lead among WCHA players, having posted 10 points in his team's first six games.

LeBlanc broke his leg just 10 games into the 2011-12 season and applied for a medical redshirt, meaning he is a fifth-year senior with the Huskies this year. He also participated over this past summer in the development camp of the Minnesota Wild.
