Hermantown Native LeBlanc Up for Hobey

Hermantown, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Hermantown, Minn. native and St. Cloud State University (SCSU) senior forward Drew LeBlanc is one of 77 initial candidates for the 2013 Hobey Baker Award, which is given each year to the best player in NCAA Division I men's college hockey.

LeBlanc is currently second in the country with 30 points this season, those coming on six goals and 24 assists through SCSU's first 22 games.

The former Hawks standout has scored a point in 11 straight games for SCSU, helping the team to a (12-10-0) record.

The first phase of fan voting for the 2013 Hobey Baker Award opened on Jan. 7 and will run through March 10. Fans can cast their vote once a day at the Hobey Baker website.
