Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Hibbing native Kate Lange had a match-high 15 kills on Thursday night as the #5-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team beat Bemidji State 3-0 at Romano Gymnasium.

The match doubled as the annual "Dig for a Cure" event on the UMD campus, aimed to spread awareness about breast cancer. Teams from both teams wore special pink uniforms as part of the effort.

Kalli Lochner and Monica Turner each added eight kills for the Bulldogs, and Maddy Siroin also put down five kills in the winning effort.

UMD is now (24-2) overall this season and (15-2) in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
