St. Cloud, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Cloud State University (SCSU) senior forward and Hermantown, Minn. native Drew LeBlanc is one of 10 finalists for the 2013 Hobey Baker Award, it was announced on Thursday afternoon.

LeBlanc was named earlier this month the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) player of the year, also earning a spot on the all-WCHA first team.

A captain of SCSU, LeBlanc finished with 12 goals and 34 assists this regular season in helping the Huskies earn a share of the WCHA championship, that program's first-ever claim to the McNaughton Cup.

The Hobey Baker Award is given each year to the best player in Division I men's college hockey, with the 2013 announcement scheduled for April 12 in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The list of 10 finalists will be whittled down on April 3 to three, called the Hobey Hat Trick, on April 3 following a round of voting by a 23-member selection committee and the fans.

Fans can cast their ballots at the official
Hobey Baker Award web site from March 21-31 to help in the selection of the Hobey Hat Trick finalists.
