Columbus, OH (NNCNOW.com) --- International Falls, Minn. native and former Ohio State goaltender Brady Hjelle will start his professional career with Florida Everblades in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), he announced via Twitter on Tuesday.

"Excited to head to the Florida Everblades in the morning #playoffhockey," Hjelle tweeted.

The former Broncos goaltender is not yet on the official playoff roster provided by the team, but only one goaltender is on the roster with four more listed as playoff eligible.

Hjelle played in 34 games this season for the Buckeyes, finishing with an overall record of (14-14-6). His 1.89 goals against average and .937 saves percentage through the regular season each ranked second in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA).
