Omaha, NE (NNCNOW.com) --- Dominic Zombo scored two goals, including the game-winner, on Sunday afternoon as the Nebraska-Omaha men's hockey team beat the #20-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) 6-3 at CenturyLink Center.
The Mavericks fell behind in the first five minutes of the game, but never trailed again as they earned a weekend sweep of the Bulldogs in front of a home crowd.
UMD got first period goals from Mike Seidel and Joe Basaraba and a third period tally from Austin Farley, but Nebraska-Omaha used three power play goals to earn the victory.
Freshman goaltender Matt McNeely will be charged with the loss for UMD, allowing all six goals and totaling 22 saves in the contest.
The Bulldogs are now (2-5-1) overall this season and will next be in action November 16-17 on the road to North Dakota.
